150+ Clubs, One Place to Get Active in Laois
Laois Sports Partnership is delighted to announce the launch of the Laois Club Finder, bringing together 150+ sports and physical activity clubs, groups and organisations from across County Laois in one easy-to-access online directory.
The initiative has been developed to make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to discover opportunities to get active in their local community. Whether you’re looking to try a new sport, return to physical activity, or find a club close to home, the Laois Club Finder provides a simple way to connect with clubs throughout the county.
The Club Finder has been made possible thanks to the fantastic response from club secretaries who completed our recent Club Information Survey. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute and help create this valuable community resource.
To encourage participation, clubs that completed the survey were entered into a prize draw for the chance to win €100 for their club. Congratulations to our three winners:
- Laois Hunt Pony Club
- Portarlington Golf Club
- Rathdowney Women’s Shed
The Laois Club Finder will not only help people find opportunities to participate in sport and physical activity, but will also support clubs by increasing their visibility and helping them attract new members.
While reaching 150 clubs is a fantastic milestone, the directory continues to grow. Clubs that have not yet registered, or those wishing to update their details, are encouraged to do so through our online registration form. To ensure information remains accurate, registrations should be completed by the club secretary.
Why Register?
Registered clubs will receive important updates and supports from Laois Sports Partnership, including:
- Funding and grant opportunities
- Training and education programmes
- Club development supports
- Volunteer and governance information
- Sport Ireland initiatives and opportunities
- Resources and updates relevant to club development
By registering, clubs can stay informed about opportunities that can strengthen their club, support volunteers, develop coaches and increase participation in their community.
Laois Sports Partnership would like to thank all clubs and organisations that have engaged with this initiative to date. The outstanding response highlights the strength of community sport across Laois and our shared commitment to creating more opportunities for people to participate, belong and be active.
