Laois Wellness is an online health and wellness programme for adults in Laois for the month of October 2021. It is a mixture of gentle movement classes, health and nutrition workshops. The online exercise sessions will be delivered through Zoom and you will perform them in your own home. We will send you written instructions for downloading and using zoom before the programme starts.

We recommend using a mat for the exercise classes but you do not need any equipment or much space to take part. All exercises will be performed at your own ability and all exercises will be modified to ensure that they take into consideration any injuries or clinical issues that you have. All training sessions will be delivered by trained professionals and you will receive take home resources including videos, recipes and training diaries as part of this programme.

You do not need to be ‘fit’ to take part in these classes. You just need a desire to improve your wellbeing & quality of life.


This programme is brought to you by Laois Sports Partnership and supported by the HSE, so places on this programme are completely FREE for participants! This programme will be delivered by our experts in True Fitness.

When will the programme start?

Laois Wellness starts on Monday 4th October 2021 at 8pm. There will be classes every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8-8:45pm throughout the month of October. 

  • Balance and Mobility classes will take place every Monday from 8-8:45pm. This class is designed to challenge & improve your balance and functional movement through gentle mobility exercises.
  • Flexibility classes will take place every Wednesday from 8-8:45pm. This is a full body flexibility/stretching class to improve range of motion, reduce the risk of injury, pain and stiffness & improve quality of life.
  • Health education workshops will take place every Thursday from 8-8:45pm. 
    • Week 1: Physical activity for healthy ageing (7th October 2021).
    • Week 2: How you can boost your mood with food (14th October 2021).
    • Week 3: Top tips for promoting positive physical and mental health and wellbeing (21st October 2021).
    • Week 4: Life changing benefits by improving your balance & flexibility (28th October 2021).

How can I sign up?

Please email ruthtruefitness@gmail.com to book your place. Ruth will reply to your email and ask you to complete an online declaration form to confirm your place. You do not need to complete a screening form for this programme. Please share with family and friends who may be interested.
