Come and Try Orienteering for the Family is a family event on the 12th August 2022
The Orienteering will take place in Emo Court from 1.00 PM
Once registered, you will be sent an email on a step by step of how to use the orienteering app. This is a fun activity for the family.
All results will be recorded on the day and the family who completes the course the fastest, will receive a prize.
Tutors from LSP will be there on the day to guide you through instructions on how to complete the Orienteering course.
It is a fun way to spend quality time outdoors with your family whilst learning a new skill by navigating the family through the course.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
There is no age requirement to enter the event but a mobile phone and MapRun6 is needed to complete the course.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends?
Yes, places can be transferred if you are unable to attend. Please call Eimear Bryant in advance so that the course tutor can be notified.
Do you need a phone to complete the Orienteering course?
A phone is required to complete the course. All details must be added to the app to be in with a chance to win a prize.
Can you complete the course individually?
The course can be completed on your own or with a family member or friend. It is completely up to you how many you wish to compete on your team.
Does all family members need to register for the event?
No, Only one family member will need to register for the event. However, you will need to list the number of participants in the questionnaire of who will be completing the course with you for data purposes.
When does the event take place?
The event will take place on Monday the 9th August. It will take place at 11.00 AM in Emo Court and 2.00 PM in Pairc na Phobail, Portlaoise.
