We Invite you to Explore Laois with us this September!
Laois Sports Partnership is inviting you to get on your walking shoes and explore Laois with us this September!
In celebration of National Walking Day on the 27th of September, which is part of European Week of Sport (23rd – 30th of September), we want the people of Laois to join us to get out and #BeActive by exploring the beautiful amenities Laois has to offer.
When & Where
We are encouraging everyone to #BeActive #WalkYourTown, #WalkYourArea and find #HiddenGems on our doorstep during the month of September.
We are linking with our partners Get Ireland Walking & Laois Tourism to share suggestions of where to walk throughout the month. You will be able to use Coillte amenities, Waterways Ireland’s waterways and blueways, Irish Heart Foundation Slí na Sláinte routes, Sport Ireland’s outdoor trails and National Parks & Gardens across the county.
In order to follow the latest Covid-19 guidelines, we ask to walk with your family, your friends, by yourself or with your walking group but to keep numbers of people to a maximum of 15.
Remember to keep your distance from other walkers and avoid amenities that attract large crowds – at weekends in particular.
Register & Win
Register with us on Eventbrite as part of our “Explore Laois” event, and you will be in with a chance to win one of our walking goody bags, with high vis vest, hat and phone/key pouch. 100 prize winners will be randomly selected and contacted by email to collect their prize. Simply register your contact details and tell us your favourite place in Laois to walk and explore!
National Walking Day
Laois LSP, along with Sport Ireland’s network of Local Sports Partnerships, are joining with Get Ireland Walking to invite you to join the 3.1 million people who are walking since Covid-19 began and take part in our National Walking Day, on Sunday 27th September as part of European Week of Sport.
Share a photo or video of your walk with us on social media. Tag @Laois LSP and @GetIreWalking and don’t forget to use #BeActive #NationalWalkingDay #WalkYourTown #WalkYourArea and #HiddenGems!
