The Barrow Way Walk offers fun and fitness for all!
The Barrow Way Walk, will take place across Carlow, Kildare, and Laois on the September 29th, 2019 as part of the European Week Of Sport.
Taking place on the Barrow towpath and starting in a variety of locations in each county, participants can chose to walk 5KM, 10KM or 20KM. Choose to walk the one nearest you, or select a walk in a new location for a different experience. Transport will be provided to bring the registered participants back to the start.
Families, clubs, friends and individuals are invited to pre-register on www.BarrowWayWalk.ie to secure a place and ensure sufficient transport is provided. Visit the site to see the route maps, find further information and book your place.
Outdoor activities can have a significant positive impact on health and well-being, and walking in particular can provide an opportunity for fun, fitness, meeting old friends and new people and reconnecting with nature. The Barrow Way Walk provides all these things in an idyllic waterfront setting. The walks are graded easy and the surface is flat but variable.
The Barrow Way Walk is the first event organised by a strategic partnership between Waterways Ireland, Get Ireland Walking, Sport Ireland and the Carlow, Kildare and Laois Local Sports Partnerships.
