Laois Sports Partnership are delighted to have been chosen County Winner of the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2019 Sports Category.
These special awards are aimed at honouring the inspiring work and achievements of thousands of projects, clubs and individuals all over Ireland with the help of Good Causes funding. We were chosen for our lifestyle intervention programmes targetting Men over 40 and Older Adults. These were facilitated by our partners True Fitness and supported by Health Service Executive. Our Men over 40 programme was also adapted by Roscommon Sports Partnership & Moore Movers and received national recognition as FitFarmers programme.
480 amazing entries was received for the National Lottery #GoodCausesAwards 2019. Laois Sports Partnership now progress to the regional stages of the competition and we are thrilled to be a part of this amazing journey. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Board of Directors and all our partners, agencies, stakeholders, community organisations and all the volunteers within sports clubs and community groups whom continue to support us in increasing participation in sport and physical activity for the people of Laois. We work together to create an envirnoment that improves activity, health and wellbeing in our local communities. As we continue to grow our strategic capacity we thank you also for your continued support as the lead agency for sports participation in County Laois.
