The Texaco Sportstars Awards have long been recognised as the premier forum for celebrating the achievements of Irish Athletes.  In existence since 1958, the sponsorship celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007.  To mark this tremendous sporting milestone and to build on their involvement in Irish sport, they launched the Texaco Sportstars Bursary in that year, an initiative which was designed to enable us to invest in Irish sports of the future.

€5,000 could make a huge difference to your club.  No matter what your sport, from archery to water polo, there are any number of ways that a €5,000 Bursary could make a difference to the future of your members.  New equipment or playing surfaces perhaps, or improved training or clubhouse facilities.  It might go towards new kit, or help to fund additional coaching or even transportation for teams going to away games.  The possibilities really are endless.  To be in with a chance to win one of this year’s 20 Bursaries of €5,000 each log onto www.texaco.ie/bursary for application form (only applications using this form will be accepted).  Closing date for all entries is Sunday 29th August 2010 with winners being notified thereafter and on receipt of the sports clubs’ Articles of Association, the Bursaries will be presented on Thursday, 30th September at a media reception in Dublin.
