Sport & Physical Activity Grants 2004 |

Laois Sports Partnership has just announced the recipients of this years local sports grants, provided to help clubs, schools and community groups to organise sport and physical recreation activities for their members. In total €15,000 was allocated under a number of headings – equipment, leadership training, activity programmes and special projects. Over 4,000 people of all ages and abilities will be participating in the activities that have been supported. Some of the activities supported include the development of the countywide Laois Walks Festival which this year will take place in 15 locations, a programme of activities for the Up and Go Club in Erkina House, a day care facility in Rathdowney and a winter indoor athletics programme for children in Mountmellick, run by Mountmellick Athletics Club.
