Go For Life Leaders receive their certificates |

On Monday July 14th, 21 people from 10 local communities received their Physical Activity Leader certificates from Go For Life, the national programme for sport and physical activity for older people. These leaders had participated in 6 sessions held over the previous weeks in Vicarstown. Mary Harkin, National Co-ordinator of Go For Life, presented the certificates to the group. She paid complement to the drive and achievement of the leaders and said that it was a wonderful basis for their groups to work from. She also announced that 2 further sessions were planned for September for this group. Afterwards the leaders enjoyed lunch in a local restaurant compliments of the Sports Partnership. Laois Sports Partnership would like to thank Laois VEC for their generous funding towards the programme and Vicarstown Hall Committee for the usage of their facility and the assistance provided. Go For Life granted €10,800 to organisations in Laois in late 2002 and participation in leader sessions is welcomed from those in receipt of or seeking funding.
